What scares you about retirement?

Retirement sounds great, no more work, and the freedom to do whatever you want. But why do we sometimes fear what is yet to come?

The basic answer to this question, is that some of us are just worried about not knowing what it is we’re actually going to do with all that spare time.

It’s a fear that can be conscious or subconscious and is an incredibly common concern of near retirees.

Retirement is a massive adjustment to your current lifestyle, and huge changes can bring about a lot of stress.

Are there any ways to help reduce these fears?

A good strategy that can help ease this fear is to have a deep think about what it is you picture your retirement to look like and plan for things in it that will provide you with fulfillment.

Plan your retirement in a way that you know will give you a sense of purpose.

Doing this in the years leading up to retirement can change your fears of the unknown to an excitement on what’s to come.

At the end of the day, you would have worked for most of your life and you deserve to live a retirement that will make you happy.
